A Date With Emme

Enjoying our ice cream at the Creamery

Today we celebrated Emme's 4th birthday a bit early and took her on a fun shopping date. It was just Damien and I with Emme. We had so much fun. We took her to Lancaster to the outlets and then went to a chinese restaurant for lunch. When we poured some tea at the restaurant for her she said, "We are having a tea party!" We then topped the day off with going to one of favorite ice cream shops in Strasburg called, "The Creamery." They have a little candy store there too so we told Emme that we were going to get Faith some candy for a present for her and then we also got Emme a candy necklace and candy lipstick. She was so excited about the candy. When we asked her what her favorite part of the day was she said, "Getting the candy." Too funny. Throughout the day Damien and I would just look at eachother and smile, overwhelmed with thankfulness for this precious little girl that God has so graciously blessed us with. It was so neat to be able to share a special day like this with her and see her so excited and thankful for the time we had with her. We are blessed way beyond what we deserve and cannot thank God enough for the wonderful blessing Emme Grace is in our lives. Thank you Lord!

Our Jesus Tree

The Beginnings of Our Easter Tree
This is our second year celebrating Easter with a "Jesus Tree." We first got the idea from Noel Piper's book, "Treasuring God in Our Traditions." God has been so kind to give me such creative and very generous friends that help me by sharing their creative ideas with me. My dear friend Shannon, created a booklet that is read from each night for 12 days leading up to Easter and then along with that something to hang on the tree to go along with the devotional. She has graciously given us a copy of the booklet which we are so grateful to have to use each night after dinner to teach the girls about the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. Thank you, Shannon!
We are on the third day. The past two days we have talked about sin, which is represented on the tree by black ribbons and the first sin which is represented by the toy apple and how we are all sinners and need a Savior. Each of the Drago's are represented by a pipecleaner figurine. Emme gets so excited to do the "Jesus Tree" and we are so excited to be starting these traditions with our girls. God is so kind to provide such wonderful Gospel centered resources for us to teach our girls about His grace and His mercy that He has shown us by sending His only Son to die on the cross for us so that we could be forgiven of our sins and be with Him forever.

Look Momma!

Yesterday when I went into to get Emme from her nap this was what I found:) She said, "Look Momma I am going to have a baby too!" She continued on with her "pregnancy" for about half and hour and was saying, "Momma feel the baby kick" and "Oh yes, Momma, the baby is getting fed through the quarter:)." Then she would say, "Momma can you feel my baby?" When I would go to touch her belly where the baby was she would wiggle all around to make the baby move. It was too cute! She is so excited for our little baby to come. I pray that she would continue to grow in her desire to be a Momma someday, someday far from now when she is married to a godly man. May I be a joyful and content Momma while serving my little ladies at home that they too would find being a Momma a true gift and blessing from the Lord!
