Overwhelmed By His Kindness

We are overwhelmed by God's kindness in the blessing of this little girl. Lydia Hope Drago arrived on April 24th at 10:49 p.m. It was such a smooth labor and delivery and we give God all the praise and glory for it! I had a doctor's appt that day at 4:00 and had been getting what I thought were the usual Braxton-Hicks with cramping. The doctor asked if I wanted to her to check to see if there was any progress so I told her just to check. Well, to our amazement I was 4 centimeters dilated and 80% effaced. She said that we should start to time the contractions and once they get to 5 minutes apart to call her. So we started to time them and they were 3-5 minutes apart. We took the girls over to my mom's and headed home to pack things up and eat a little something and called the doctor. She told us to head into the triage where they would see if there was any progress. They checked me at the triage and I was 6 centimeters now and 90% effaced. So off to Labor and Delivery we went. Once the doctor got there she broke my water and she wanted the contractions to be a bit stronger to get the labor progressing a little bit faster so she gave me some pitosin and it worked. I was now 10 centimeters and 100% effaced. She gave me the go ahead to start pushing and by God's grace and merciful kindness it only took 2 minutes of pushing for us to hear our little Lydia's first cry. She weighed 8lbs. 5 oz. and was 20 1/4 inches long. She is so sweet and is doing a fantastic job of nursing. We praise God for the amazing blessing she is to our family and pray that she will grow to love Him and live her life for Him alone.

God's Perfect Timing

Nine Months and Counting
We are all awaiting, hmmm...hmmm...patiently for our little Lydia to join us. I have been very aware of my tendency towards impatience and just not waiting on God's perfect timing. This was very evident yesterday after my doctor's appointment. God was so gracious in revealing it to me and then also giving Damien the grace to care for me and point me towards God's truth as he prayed for me. Thank you Lord for a husband who cares for my soul so well and does not let me wallow in self-pity and complaining. What an exciting time this is, I have no right to complain in light of God's mercy and abundant kindness to me. Today I have felt His grace in giving me more joy. He is so kind to answer prayer and pour out His grace on me so richly.
So soon, in God's perfect timing, we will be announcing our little girlie's arrival. Till then I pray that I choose to be joyful in all circumstances and wait on God's perfect timing.

Our Weekend

We had such a nice weekend celebrating Emme's birthday with Gramps and Grandmom. (Damien's parents) On Saturday we went to the Wyomissing Park and the girls got to ride in their Barbie Jeep that Gramps and Grandmom brought along for them. Then they got to run around and go on the swings, slides, and see-saw. It was a fun time. The only problem was that Emme thought that she could drive her jeep home from the park. We had to explain to her that the policemen would not approve of a little girl driving a jeep like that on the roads:)

We then celebrated with Emme's request of fajitas for dinner and the princess cake that she requested with a green dress and black hair. Hard to believe that she is a little lady of four years old already. Thank you Gramps and Grandmom for traveling out here to be with us this weekend. We had a great time with you and love and miss you already.

Happy Birthday, Emme Grace

Emme's first birthday, Emme's 2nd birthday,

Emme's BIRTHDAY:)

Emme's 3rd birthday

The birthday Girl
Today is Emme's fourth birthday. It is so hard to believe that four years ago today I awoke with labor pains and a few hours later I would be holding my first born little girl. (I had to have a c-section because she was breech. It was scheduled for exactly a week later, but was moved up because I went into labor.)

It has been so much fun being her Momma. Emme has grown into an affectionate and loving little girl who loves to sing, spend time with her family, talk about Jesus, play guitar with Daddy, bake with Momma, and read books. We are so grateful that God has blessed us with this little girl who brings us so much joy. Our biggest prayer for her is that she would love Jesus and would want to honor Him above all else. We thank the Lord for you, Emme Grace.

Good Job, Dad!

I usually make Damien's coffee for him in the mornings and mix the cream and sugar for him in his coffee mug that he takes to school. The other morning Damien was mixing it himself and Emme was sitting in her chair waiting for breakfast. She looked over at Damien and saw that HE was mixing the coffee himself. She exclaimed, "Yay! Daddy is doing it all by himself! Good job, Dad!" She was so proud of her daddy for being able to mix his coffee all by himself. Our Emme Grace is a little encourager:)

My Silly Girls

The other day Faith was in our room and went running down the hallway into her room with one of my books. I followed her and peeked in to find her sitting in her rocking chair, feet propped up on a stool with a big smile on her face as she read, "What to Expect When You are Expecting." That scene brought much laughter to me:)

Earlier this week Emme was about to go for naptime/rest time and she wanted some music on as usual. I had music playing downstairs from our computer so she asked me if I could turn it down or turn it off. I said, "Yeah I will turn it down for you then." She then said, "Will the lady be mad?" I said, "What lady, honey?" She said, "The lady singing on the computer." She was worried that the lady singing on the computer would be offended that we turned her down. So funny!

I love the way her little mind works. And I love these moments with my little girls that bring much laughter and joy throughout the day. It is so easy to get caught up in the tasks of the day and lose sight of the absolute joy they bring. I am so grateful that God weaves funny moments like these throughout my day to remind me of the absolute gifts these girls are to me and the absolute gift it is to be able to spend my days with them. There is NO other place I would rather be!
