Our Peanut

Yesterday Lydia had her six month check up. She continues to be our little peanut weighing in at 14 lbs. She is growing well though gaining two inches in height. Praise the Lord for her continued health and growth.
I told Faith that she could take the stethescope to help Dr. Schadder out with the examine, but we forgot it at home. So when Dr. Schadder walked in and Faith saw the stethescope she said, "Where is my gope?" Dr. Schadder and I had know idea what she was saying so we kept asking her to say it again and finally I remembered that I had told her she could bring the stethescope. She was comforted when I told her she could check Lydia out at home. Emme was all about pretending she was Dr. Emme helping do the examine making comments such as "oh yes let's check your head...its growing hair so it is doing well." Oh my goodness.
Emme wanting to be an assistant again and help give the shots to Lydia settled for holding her hand. After Lydia got her shots and was screaming I looked up at Emme with tears in my eyes and saw tears rolling down her cheeks. She was having compassion for Lydia and was sad that she was in pain. This was the sweetest part of the appointment and an answer to Damien and my prayers on Emme's behalf for compassion towards others. All glory to God for His faithful hand in our girl's lives.

I Can Only Imagine

Everytime I hear this song I am brought to tears of gratefulness for Jesus saving me. Then I think about what it will be like to see my Savior and be in my heaven my forever home:)

Getting the Yucky stuff Out

The carving of the pumpkin

We are really enjoying family nights around here at the Drago Homestead. This past Monday we carved the pumpkins that the girls picked at the orchard last week.
Emme was so excited to "get the yucky stuff out" as you can tell by her picture:) Daddy did a great job of carving the pumpkins while the girls got their baths. (much needed after Faith decided to rub pumpkin all over her belly saying, "Look at my belly!" He did such a great job too! Thanks, Love!

The pumpkin seeds turned out to be a hit with the girls. They really enjoyed them and so did I:)

Half a Year With Our Lydia

Six months already!!!!! Wow time sure does go by so fast. It has been such a joy to watch this little lamb grow. What a joyful, affectionate spirit God has blessed Lydia with. She loves to smile and loves to snuggle . It is so much fun to go into her room in the morning and be greeted with such big toothless grins and such big snuggle hugs from her. She is so cuddly:) She has been enjoying her oatmeal cereal and fruit and veggies. So much fun....she usually hums as she eats them and is usually disappointed when it is all gone:) We continue to be amazed at God's lavish grace in blessing us with these three little ladies and for the blessing of six months with our Lydi-bug:) Thank you Lord!!!!

Pumpkin Pickin

On Monday for our family night we went to Weaver's Orchard for some pumpkin picking. The girls each got to choose their own pumpkins. Then as Emme puts it we are going to carve it and "take all the yucky stuff out." It will be so much fun to get to do that together. Then of course roasting the seeds....yum:)

This is just a random picture of sweet Lydia:)
Faith being a turkey and Emme being an Indian....so cute:)

Grammy and Poppy also took Emme and Faith for a sleepover Tuesday into Wednesday and they went to Pumpkin Land for a hayride and to the Oley Dairy Petting Zoo for ice cream and to feed the animals. They had such a nice time with Poppy and Grammy. Thank you for creating such wonderful memories with our girls:)

Quotes of the Week and Lydia's New tricks

Faith: " Look Momma, Its Gramps!" Then Emme said, "Look, its Grandmom!"

Emme feeding Lydia her dinner. She is quite the little mommy. She has such a nurturing spirit and Lydia just loves her big sister:)

Lydia's new trick...sucking on her toes....her thumbs are a thing of the past!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Me: Oh no, I broke a rule. (after letting Faith do something that I usually don't let her do.)
Emme:
(minutes later) Momma, I put your rule back together.
Emme: Is God married?
Me: No, honey.
Emme: If He was His wife would be Mrs. God.
Boasting in My Weaknesses
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
This week has been one where God was revealing many of my weaknesses to me. It became so obvious to me that I was trying to do things on my own, becoming self-reliant, and when things did not go as I had planned I was not accessing His abundant grace. How prideful of me! Our pastor CB gave a wonderful message on this very topic two weeks ago when we were away. My dear friend Shannon shared with me how wonderful the message was. Thank you Lord for using Shannon to direct me to your word! What a blessing this message was to me the other night. Thank you C.B. for so faithfully preaching the Gospel to us.
God then reminded me the following day of 2 Corinthians 12:9 as I was again confronted with my weaknesses. After reading that verse again I was grateful for my many weaknesses. Thank you for your faithfulness to me Lord and for continuing to reveal the sin in my heart. Please Lord I want your power to rest on me, I want to be a weak saint for your glory!
Making Memories
Last week I was sharing with my friend Kelly about how I wanted to be less agenda oriented during my days with the girls and more focused on them and getting some fun play time in. God has been revealing to me my idol of a clean house and everything in its place. Of course there is a balance between keeping a clean house and also making time to have fun with my girlies. He is teaching me this looks like lately and He has been SO very patient with me. So last week during nap time or rest time for Emme:) I went upstairs and asked her if she would like to have a tea party with me. Her reply was an excited, "A real one?" We had so much fun sipping our tea and eating our cookies and talking about all kinds of things. She looked so grown up adding her milk and sugar to her tea. As we were stirring our tea she looked at me and said with all seriousness, "Momma, your eyeballs are beautiful. Who painted them?" Thank you Lord for helping me choose a sweet time with my little girl over getting another chore crossed off my list. Your grace is AMAZING!
On Friday we had a family night and went to a local orchard for apple picking. It was a beautiful night and the apples could not taste any better. We chose Stayman's to pick. Highly recommend!!!!
We ended the night with some really good freshly baked cookies. One of our favorite family treats. Those were some BIG cookies!
Faith recording her "song" with daddy. "I love Jesus, I love Jesus...." and then it switched to "I love Moses."
Kate blowing out her candles:) Lydia and Anderson
Then Saturday we celebrated my neice Kate's birthday which was a fun time with the family.
And then our dear friends the Ross' were home this past weekend to celebrate their daughter Madelyn's 2nd birthday. How fun to get to celebrate with them and hear about God's continued faithfulness to them this past month at the Pastor's College. It was SO refreshing to get to spend time with you:) We love you Ross Family!
